6th grade camp went very well. Positive feedback from 6th graders and 8th grade chaperones.

Middle School dance at the high school went very well, all 4 middle schools participated– it was on January 14th, 2016. Next dance is in June.

Middle school sports is going very well. Next sports day is Thursday February 4th.

    School wide Title 1

PV and Descasno qualify as School wide Title 1 schools.

    • Need to look at SBAC, CELDT data and attendance data – do analysis of data and how we will improve those pieces of data using Title 1 funds.
    • Must include on the title page this phrase: “A School Wide Title 1 School”
    • Needs approval from SSC; board approval and Con App approval by July 1 for next school year.
    • This will be a huge benefit for both sites to have the school wide title 1 funding. Will make title 1 money available to all students.

Comprehensive school safety program – Sheri Miller

We have binders for the plan, one for each site. All sections are labeled with a table of contents. Board policies, forms, procedures, discrimination and harassment, dress code, maps, rules, discipline, bullying harassment etc.

The emergency plan info is in section B in red to review with staff. The red folder is tactical info for the school site staff only.

The binder is for public; will track who reviews binder, like a sign up sheet, secretaries will have the binder and be able to allow public to review.

School District is working on district wide communication systems, even linking to cell phones. Will be presented to the board in February. An expensive system, but can have part of it. All schools have different lock down procedures; district has a new SRO for the district. Trying to come up with a district wide policy for consistency.

An idea of a phone tree, call log. In the red folder is a list to fill out with phone numbers and emergency contacts. If phones and cells phones go down, the schools have contact info for staff.

There is a sign sheet for all to sign that they have read and reviewed the binder.

Motion to approve CSSP Binder for both sites: Donna Burton

    Second: Angie Robbins

    All in favor: All Ayes

    Next Meeting: March 9, 2016 – 4pm @ Pine Valley Middle School
